Electric Guitar Solo For ” Nothing Else Matters “
This Metallica solo is one of the most easy to learn and well-known numbers, even for a beginner. The use of the double-stops give the solo a real aggressive tone, especially at the start of the guitar solo ( listen out for it! ).
For those of you who are wanting to learn how to play this solo, you’re in luck. I was scouring around for Youtube videos and I came across this awesome one by Lick Library. Now, I actually do own a copy of this particular tutorial DVD and that’s how I’ve come to know about it. It’s a surprise that this video is still up on Youtube seeing that it’s against copyright laws.
Anyhow, hope you guys enjoy it while it lasts! Watch it, learn it, and nail it.

Nothing Else Matters

This electric guitar solo lesson covers two ways of playing an improvisational solo.
David from Next Level Guitar explains that you can use a pentatonic, major or minor scale over the entire chord progression and this works ( relate to all chords scale ). Or playing over chord changes using arpeggios. To explain this simply, every time the chord changes in a progression, you’re changing key scales to match the chord.
Only works if the song is slow enough that you have time to switch scales along with the chords.
This creates more tonal variety within the tune and it sounds much more interesting. This will take much practice and experience but when you nail this down you will take your guitar playing to the next level!
